today's new work-in-progress project is a very special blanket. a blanket that some of the knitting mamas at our waldorf school are making collaboratively for our school's 30 year celebration. the plan is to auction it off at our spring gala and hopefully bring a nice fundraising price to donate to the school. we're using noro silk garden in 6 different colorways and making 30 12x12 squares, in a variety of stitch patterns, which will then be crocheted together to complete the blanket. 30 beautiful squares representing 30 beautiful years of our school! here is the beginning of my first square (i'm hoping to make 3-4), in simple garter stitch...
and as usual, i have a few more gnome hats in the works, as well. these two are for a set of boy/girl twins...
for my yarn update today, i've got a few skeins of three irish girls galenas merino (one of my all-time favorite yarns) that i've just recently finally been able to get photos of, in some beautiful colorways:
in cosmo...
in mimosa...
in dolan...
in shannon...
in erin...
and in devin...
what are you working on this week?
p.s. happy candlemas today! i'll be sharing our yearly candlemas celebration photos here in this space tomorrow.
