i consciously chose to be more relaxed with my christmas knitting this year, so as a result...many of the gifts i had in mind to give will be knitted (and then gifted) in and around the new year. quite a few such gifts are work-in-progress projects on the needles right now...
first up is a noro olearia cardigan, size 4 years. i'm a big fan of georgie hallam's patterns and this one is no exception. i'm thinking the noro chirimin is going to work out nicely for this...
second is a sweet little pair of owl mittens that i've just begun in malabrigo merino worsted (mariposa colorway). i'm downsizing the recommended needles on these, hoping to make them child-sized...
my third project is an adult-sized balaclava and matching men's fingerless mitts. again, i'm using malabrigo merino worsted for both - in three natural colorways, randomly striped...
and fourth on my list today is another pair of adult-sized men's fingerless mitts. these are in manos del uruguay maxima, in the currant colorway...
along with the gift projects above, i also have a couple of new smaller, personal projects that i'm working on. another attempt at a slouchy hat for wesley (the first one ended up fitting maya better! - more on this later), in two gorgeous colorways (which wesley picked out himself) - malabrigo merino worsted, in intenso + madelinetosh tosh merino, in maple leaf. i'm really loving this vibrant color combination!
and lastly, another gnome hat. this was originally begun for someone else, but the colors just didn't seem to fit the recipient's personality after all. i suppose it was destined to be another hat for maya, since these are definitely her colors...
my yarn update today is the noro yarn i'm using for the olearia sweater above:
noro chirimen, colorway #4...
whew - now that's a lot of work in progress, isn't it? :-) what's in your project basket this week?
