wip wednesday :: mother nature and an autumn scarf

i've got two work in progress projects to share today. the first is my featured sponsorship season's round exchange giveaway gift. as the proud sponsor of this first season's round exchange, i've been working on another, slightly more elaborate, nature table doll - and i'm calling her mother nature. i'm using another lovely skein handspun wool from my friend, rachel-marie (better known as knitty dirty girl) - this one in her wild berries colorway. i should have this doll completed in the next couple of days!

my second project today is a seed stitch scarf that i'm making for myself in the most beautiful lorna's laces lion and lamb colorway called red rover. gosh, i love this yarn. and this color reminds me of the deep reddish purple leaves that show themselves on our sweet gum tree each autumn.

i'm looking forward to cooler weather!

the autumn wind blows open the gate,

saint michael it is for you we wait.

will make me a sword, so strong and bright.

i'll polish by sword so fine and bright,

and i will use it for the right.

drive evil away, i will try

and protect those who are weaker than i.

gearing up for autumn knitting...

oh, do i have some fun autumn knitting projects planned. after winding all the lovely yarn, i can hardly wait to get started. i'll be using some old standby favorites, as well as some luscious new acquisitions...

because it was a rainy day when i took the previous photos of my season's round exchange gifts, i decided to retake them this afternoon in better light to show the true color of lady autumn's cloak!
