summertime...

sing a song of sunny hours,

dreaming with the bees and flowers.

sing a song of babbling brooks,

dancing on by shady nooks.

thankful for these sunny days.

sing a song of softest breeze,

blowing gently through the trees.

sun, wake up!  it's time to talk

about another day.

i wonder what your light will bring,

what gift your golden ray?

shine upon our singing,

shine upon our play,

shine upon our dancing,

all along the way.

a summer verse...

the great sun is rising above the green hill

his golden light gleaming on meadow and rill,

he shines on the flowers, they wake one by one

and spread out their petals to greet the great sun.

they dance in the sunshine to greet the bright day.

they dance in the sunshine so blithe and so gay.

the violets all curtsey, the bluebells ring sweet.

the daisies twirl round in their skirts white and neat.

summer sun...

i am the sun

and i bear with my might

the earth by day,

the earth by night.

i hold her fast,

and my gifts i bestow

to everything on her

so that it may grow.

man and stone, 

flower and bee...

all receive

their light from me.

open thy heart,

dear child, to me...

that we together

one light may be.

the waves of warmth...

the waves of warmth...

that strongly through the land are radiating, spreading

proclaim that we...

to glorious, golden days of summer-sun are heading.

'be filled with light!'

my spirit understands these words which nature everywhere is showing.

'let thoughts take flight!'

my heart is told:  'be never earthbound but be always changing, growing!'

may flowers...

i dig, dig, dig

and i plant some seeds.

i rake, rake, rake

and i pull some weeds.

i wait and watch,

and soon i know...

my garden spouts

and starts to grow.
