i am proud and excited to welcome waldorfmama's newest sponsor, little acorn learning. in owner/founder eileen's words...
the little acorn learning guides are an affordable and complete childcare program which gently guides the caregiver through a healthy rhythm each day. this is a holistic, whole life program warming and nurturing both the children and the provider. this program is as much for the caregiver as it is for the children. our guides assist caregivers in all areas of their lives with weekly caregiver meditations, daily housework suggestions, recipes, grocery lists, crafting lists and ongoing encouragement and support.
our goal is to reconnect children with nature while supporting the caregiver's soul - helping providers find true meaning and purpose in their work with young children. we inspire a love for nature and the home arts.
every day is planned for you and can be used at one price, regardless of the amount of children you care for. in addition, most of the activities are done using common household supplies. this is ideal for a mixed age program with younger children being the 'helpers' during the more difficult tasks each day.

we are currently offering a three day and five day series on our website. the three day series includes our orignal books written in 2007-2008. we then enhanced the program significantly in 2008-2009 and began offering the five day per week series. also a new series will be released this coming school year, 2010-2011, and we are really excited to share it, as well.
we have a few sample weeks available for free on our website, littleacornlearning.com, for those who would like to see what the program is all about. be sure to also check out our blog at eileensplace.blogspot.com to follow us and see what we do!

here are some of orit's own insightful thoughts...
i believe waldorf dolls are bearing healing forces for the child. the love and warmth which is involved in the creation of these kinds of dolls streams to the doll in the process of creating and the child can feel it. i can tell you from my experience that hyperactive children who did not sleep well began to sleep all night when their mothers created a waldorf doll for them. also the process of creating these dolls is therapeutic for the adults, as it is a process that requires soul forces which are different from any other creation i know...and forces the creator to be in touch more deeply with their own inner powers.
here is a photo of three of our sweet mariengold dolls - my featured sponsor for this month! don't these dolls have the sweetest faces? and i just adore their hair. check out maria's beautiful handwork here!
