after receiving some requests to include some of my felted purses in my waldorfmama shop, i've decided to do just that! so i've updated the shop today with a couple of new additions...

maya had a slight low-grade fever and a bit of congestion the last couple of days, so as usual when she has a no-school home day...she created non-stop. from knitting, to finger-knitting, to drawing with her beloved beeswax crayons (55 little art cards at last count). she's quite the artistic one...
i, too, created right along side her. it is such a joy to make things side by side here in this space of ours, each of us setting about our own work with great love and care. and as i watch her, in her creative process, i am always inspired. and filled with gratitude that we get to share these kinds of moments, as we so often do.
i was knitting, of course. and i finished one more felted water bottle carrier for the shop!
thank you for the color suggestions for more water bottle carriers in response to my last post. i'll definitely incorporate some of your suggested colorways in my upcoming creations. :)

my next few work-in-progress projects are most likely going to be more of my new felted water bottle carriers. i'm continuing to stock up the shop, as well as making as many as i can for our school's big winter fair festival (it's really not that far off!). these will also make great quick and impromptu gifts...

i've been working on a prototype for another new knitting/felting pattern i've been developing and this weekend...i finished it. although this first sample is a bit larger than i intend the final product to be (i'll be adjusting the pattern accordingly), here is my new felted weighted doorstop!
i actually ended up running out of the main color yarn and knitting the handle in a complimentary color - which i've decided i quite like! i used two entire skeins of farmhouse yarn's andy's merino in the tropical punch colorway, as well as a small bit of yardage from a third skein in the aruba colorway. but again, i'll be adjusting the final pattern so that it will require a total of only two skeins. i really like the way this yarn felted (this being the first time i've used it) as it's quite sturdy and thick. i will definitely be using it again for more of my felted projects...
weighted with sand, it's also quite amazing just how heavy this little doorstop is!

in lieu of my usual work-in-progress wednesday today, i'm bringing you a little shop update! yes, it's true. after many requests, i'm finally getting around to listing a few new handmade items in my much-neglected waldorfmama shop. for anyone who may be interested, i've just listed some of my new felted water bottle carriers (that i recently knit up using my own newly-released pattern). as the weather gets warmer, especially here in texas, it's imperative that we remember to take water along with us!
