i also made a few milo vests* to sell at our school's winter fair this year (*note: i am one of tikki's cottage license owners here in the states, and have been expressly authorized to make and sell the complete range of her fabulous patterns). and like my favorite tikki pattern for girls, the bloom dress pattern (of which i have made many - see previous post!), this milo vest is my equivalent favorite pattern for boys (of course, this vest can also be made for girls!). it's a perfect second layer for cooler days, keeping the child's trunk warm without the bulk of sleeves.
each of the following milo vests was made with my usual choice of malabrigo merino worsted (modified from the DK weight called for in the pattern - you can find my ravelry projects and specific notes here)...in an array of various colorways. i chose to do these three in what i like to call 'color groups', keeping to the same family of colors or those adjacent to each other on the color wheel. and as you can see, i decided to knit the first two plain - without any cables, but included a sweet little owl cable on the third...
still more knitting to come!
