in lieu of my usual work-in-progress wednesday today, i'm bringing you a little shop update! yes, it's true. after many requests, i'm finally getting around to listing a few new handmade items in my much-neglected waldorfmama shop. for anyone who may be interested, i've just listed some of my new felted water bottle carriers (that i recently knit up using my own newly-released pattern). as the weather gets warmer, especially here in texas, it's imperative that we remember to take water along with us!

in celebration of earth day tomorrow...my felted water bottle carrier pattern is now available on ravelry! i'm quite excited about the release of this pattern as it is such a quick and easy knit, as well as being a fun, useful and environmentally-friendly item...
this is a simple pattern for a knit-in-the-round (from the bottom up) felted water bottle carrier, with two handle/strap options included - a shorter handle option for attaching to a lunch box (a favorite with my girl) as well as an cross-body strap option for both children and adults. the threaded button closure on the strap makes the length easily adjustable and versatile. the pattern was created specifically with malabrigo worsted merino in mind, and i designed it to fit our 18oz klean kanteen water bottles - although any comparable sized water bottle will also work well.
here is the longer cross-body strap version, using two malabrigo solid colorways (molly and vermillion) - ravelry notes here...

my work-in-progress project week is an additional prototype for my new felted water bottle carrier pattern (to be released shortly, via ravelry). this is the alternate version, in malabrigo worsted solids (pink and red), and when completed, will feature the longer over-the-shoulder strap...
i hope to be releasing the pattern by the end of this week. :) as for my yarn update, here is a new-to-me malabrigo worsted colorway, which i'm using for the project above:

this weekend, i put the final finishing touches on the first prototype for my new felted water bottle carrier/holder pattern! this pattern (which i will be releasing shortly, via ravelry) calls for just one skein of malabrigo worsted and is a quick and easy one-day knit. i used one of malabrigo's variegated 'seleccion privada' colorways for this carrier (color A) and i'll have one finished in a solid color to share in the next few days. there will be two strap options included in the pattern - this shorter threaded button closure strap (pictured below, which is great for attaching to a lunch box), as well as a longer over-the-shoulder strap option (which i'll be incorporating on the next sample)...
