my weekend knitting consisted mostly of finishing up the felted yoga mat bag that i've been working on for maya's birthday tomorrow! it ended up slightly more narrow and longer than i was hoping for (i'm planning on casting on for another adjusted version ASAP while i still have all of the details in my mind), but i certainly love how all of the malabrigo rainbow colors turned out and i think maya will be quite pleased with it. i was absolutely amazed (shocked even) at just how long this bag was before felting!
surprisingly, it did knit up rather quickly, despite the large size. and i was especially delighted with how the strap was designed with a tubular edge, as it made it quite sturdy after felting and added some extra firmness along the edges...
also, as promised, here are some modeled photos of maya's birthday rainbow dream in color tunic, which she proudly wore on her birthday celebration day at her waldorf school on friday...
