the twelve days of christmas end with the feast of epiphany, or three kings day. according to an old legend based on a bible story, this is the day the magi, after following the bright star in the east, arrived bearing gifts for the christ child. for our family, this is the day we traditionally take down our christmas tree and carefully put the cherished ornaments and decorations away until next year. for me, it is also a time of cleaning and reorganization. a paring down of unnecessary things and bringing a new sense of simplicity to the coming year...
