after making my very first felted iphone purse (pattern can be found here on ravelry) almost a year ago, i've basically carried around one of my variations of this purse every. single. day. so as i was nearing the anniversary of the making of that very first rainbow purse, i decided it was time to knit another one. i wanted to make this purse just a wee bit deeper/longer than my earlier renditions (so i could carry a few other things in there) and the strap just a wee bit shorter, as well as embellish it with a little knitted flower. and i must say, i am quite pleased with the outcome...
i used punta yarn's merisoft handpainted aran yarn for this purse (color 74) and it felted quite nicely - very similarly, in fact, to the malabrigo i usually use. to make this version longer, i just knit more rows at the top of the purse than the pattern calls for. likewise, i just knit a few less inches of i-cord to make the strap shorter. the little flower embellishment was knit and attached pre-felting...
