continuing with more back-to-school knitting...after i began this scrappy bloom tunic for maya last week, i found that i didn't want to put it down! it was such fun to knit, waiting to see how it evolved with each color change. oh, how i love all of this color! i think scrappy knitting may very well be my new signature style. :-) and what a fantastic pattern. with just a few modifications (i excluded the lace repeats in the skirt portion of this pattern and instead went with just simple increases), this was a very quick and easy knit!
as i said in my earlier post, i was hoping for a bit of a better fit in the shoulder straps with this pattern than the previous rainbow tunic i knit for maya (she has slender shoulders and on items that fit her nicely otherwise, the straps tend to fall off)..and this totally fit the bill! i couldn't be happier with this fit for my tall and slender girl...
also, i was originally planning on finishing the bottom with just a simple garter or seedstitch border...but at the last minute i decided to go ahead with the eyelet and lace edging called for in the pattern - and i'm so happy i did. i really like the way it dresses up the tunic a bit...
oh my, i can't wait to get started on another one!
