it's been a busy last few days with maya's birthday, so i have only one work-in-progress to share this week - another gnome hat. this one in specially requested mermaid colors (for a kindergarten classmate of maya's). i actually began knitting this hat in a lovely skein of thick-and-thin manos that i had in a blue/green colorway...but i ran out of yarn with only a few inches to go! (lesson learned: always check your yardage!) i was slightly concerned that the manos might be a little itchy anyway, so i'm actually happy things turned out this way. i found this beautiful skein of merisoft hand-painted merino at my local yarn store (thank you, suzanne!) in what may be an even more appropriate mermaid colorway (think seaweed for those dark olive greens).
and, of course, what would a wip wednesday be without yet another colorful yarn stash update?
punta merisoft handpainted merino...
sundara aran silky merino...
alchemy silk purse...
happy creative wednesday, and st. paddy's day, to you!
