i want to share with you in the next few days some of the handmade items i was finishing up in the weeks leading up to the holiday season. one goal of mine this year was to make each person in our small extended family a handknitted christmas gift, and although i didn't get all items completely finished by christmas day (a few were wrapped and gifted still on the needles!)...i was proud and pleased with my attempt. :) i've already shared some of these gift projects with you in previous posts (in their various states of progress), but here now are a few of the finished items...
this rainbow beret was one of my favorites (using the one day beret pattern). made for my daughter, naomi. i used malabrigo merino worsted in this lovely rainbow colorway. details and more photos on my ravelry page here...

i've been wanting to knit this popular calorimetry headband pattern for a while now, and this was just the perfect project for my almost-13-year-old niece. it was a super fast knit (it took me just a few hours) and i liked the way it turned out in this artyarns supermerino. i'm planning on knitting her some matching fingerless mitts for her birthday in january. details and more photos on my ravelry page here...

i made this flame cowl for my twin sister (using the woodland trails pattern). it's the most mindful pattern i've knitted to date (a faux-cable 16 row repeat) and i really enjoyed the challenge. i love the way it knitted up so squishy in this lorna's laces lion and lamb! and i love the flame colorway. i can't wait to knit one up for myself. :) more details and photos on my ravelry page here...

and lastly, here is a rainforest cowl that i made for my daughter, hannah (using the darkside cowl pattern). she picked this yarn (fiesta boomerang in the rainforest colorway) and i think it was a perfect choice! more details and photos on my ravelry page here...

more handmade holiday goodness to share tomorrow...
