i've got two works-in-progress to share this week - 2 hats that i'm knitting as christmas gifts for family members (it's down-to-the-wire time now!). the first is a one-day beret i'm knitting for my daughter, naomi. knit from the top down, i'm knitting this in some gorgeous rainbow malabrigo yarn. you can find the details on my ravelry page here.
the second is a textures hat that i'm knitting for my brother-in-law, jack. i'm knitting this from the bottom up in some lovely silky merino yarn that i hope he'll like. details on my ravelry page here.
we missed our time at home last weekend due to the winter faire festivities at maya's school in austin, so we had many things to celebrate this sunday - the second week of advent, the beginning of our third week of advent, saint lucia day and papa's birthday!
the second light of advent is the light of plants,
plants that reach up to the sun and in the breezes dance...
it was decided this birthday weekend that wesley most definitely needed some handwarmers/mitts to match the fire department hat and neckwarmer i recently made him, and so onto ravelry i went - and this is the pattern i came away with. these were a super quick and easy knit, as well as being masculine and basic - just what i was looking for. and even better than that...they fit him perfectly and he loves them!
details on my ravelry page here. happy birthday, my sweet husband!
i've got one additional christmas present work-in-progress to share today - an amoroso scarf for my mom. i'm really loving the way this pattern is knitting up in this beautiful silky merino malabrigo. and i truly adore this amoroso colorway! details on my ravelry page here.
