well, i'm not sure where my brain is this week...but i somehow didn't realize it was wednesday today and failed to make my wip post. so here it is now. better late than never, i always say.
i have one finished project to share (more pictures to come once i am reunited with my camera!)...
i've been wanting and needing a new scarf for a few years now, but have just never taken the time to knit one for myself. until now. i saw 2 skeins of one of my favorite yarns (in this lovely and warm colorway) in my new favorite yarn shop in austin and just had to have it. i thought it would be perfect for a new autumn scarf...
the yarn is lion and lamb by lorna's laces, in the red rover colorway. i cast on 55 stitches (which, for me, equaled 10 inches wide using size 7 needles) and i knit in seed stitch until the scarf measured 6 feet long. i ended up needing 1.5 more skeins in order to make the scarf as long as i wanted it to be - and unfortunately, the new skeins had to come from a different dye lot (the second lot being quite a bit darker than the first). but i just knit with alternating skeins from both colors right in the middle of the scarf and i actually like the way the color 'migrates' from one end to the other.
just in time for some cooler weather!
