we had an abundance of wet and rainy weather this weekend, so we spent a good deal of time enjoying one of our favorite indoor activities - wet on wet watercolor painting. if you've never experienced this type of watercolor painting, i encourage you to try it...
painting with children, by brunhild muller and painting in waldorf education, by dick bruin and attie lichthart (both of which can be found here) are two of my favorite resources for explaining, experiencing and understanding this beautiful art form.
the paints that we use (which are used in waldorf schools across the world) are stockmar watercolors, which are made of natural pigments and based on the natural gradation of goethe's color circle. we've purchased our watercolor supplies from our local waldorf school, as well as some great online resources like a child's dream come true and the wooden wagon.
happy watercolor monday, everyone...
