i'm off to my new kindergarten mamas knitting group today, and then back home again to knit with my other knitting buddies (my oldest daughter and her best friend) on saturday. how lucky can one girl be? two knitting groups a week. it doesn't get much better than that. i'm one happy mama!
also, in response to some questions about our commute (which i mentioned in this post)...let me just say that it is definitely a very unique situation at the moment. although maya is attending the austin waldorf school and we are in the process of trying to move to austin, we actually still live in the dallas area. that's a 3.5 hour commute, which we are tackling like this: maya and i drive down on monday evenings, arriving just in time for supper and then bed time. we are staying at my twin sister's house (who, along with her husband and two girls, is graciously allowing us to 'live' with her while we are here - thank you, shannon!). maya attends her sungarden class three days a week (tues/wed/thurs), then we head back to dallas early thursday afternoon to spend the rest of the week and weekend with papa at home. so that's 3.5 hours driving time on monday evenings and 3.5 hours on thursday afternoons. which, as i mentioned in my earlier post, is turning into a rather enjoyable quiet/observation/meditation/nap time as we are slowly working it into our new rhythm. and although it is not necessarily an ideal situation (we don't like be separated from papa three days a week), it is one we have chosen to happily embark upon. we are hoping to be moved and settled by january. until then, we are truly grateful and thankful for the opportunities that have been laid before us.
yours in gratitude,
