we spent a few days last week and over the weekend at maya's new kindergarten, along with all of the other sungarden parents, cleaning and making ready this sacred space for our children and their teachers for the coming year. it was a great honor and privilege to be there. and created, for all of us as parents, a deep feeling of ownership to the space. then, as we all gathered together at the larger parent meeting, i felt an overwhelming sense of kindred spirit as we raised our voices in song and verse together...just as our children will be doing in the coming days.

approaching the sungarden door was, for wesley and i, the true culmination of a dream we have had for maya. it is something we have visualized and worked toward for many years. and as we stood there together in that moment, we felt and shared an enormous flood of gratitude and thankfulness wash over us. as we begin this new rhythm together as a family, we will continue to hold that gratitude in our hearts and go about our daily life with great thankfulness and honor.
humbly yours,
shelley
