here are new photos of two of my silk pilot caps (and the precious little ones wearing them) that my friend sarah, from uniquelyyouphoto.com, is graciously allowing me to use in my shop (along with this one and this one, that she previously photographed). thank you, sarah!
this first hat is in a new color i've just added to the shop, which i'm calling 'mardi gras'. i think sarah did an amazing job of capturing the unusual colors in this hat, don't you? definitely unique. i really love this one.

this second picture represents the other end of the spectrum. natural creme silk. it is one of my best sellers. very simple and classic. sarah featured this photo on her flickr site recently which brought in quite a few sales for me. thank you once again, sarah!
i was so busy with my blog move that i forgot to post about the celebration of epiphany (three kings day), which is on january 6. this is the day when the magi, or three kings, arrived at the stable to visit and give gifts to the newborn christ child. often during this celebration in waldorf schools, a teacher or parent will bake a large sweet bread with three almonds hidden inside. the children will eat the bread and each child who finds an almond will wear a golden crown for the day. also in many traditions, any christmas decorations and greenery that were put up during the holidays are taken down on this day.
to celebrate my blog move, i'd like offer this small giveaway. a seasonal collection of 4 ruth elsasser postcards (4in x 6in) - winter, spring, summer, fall. a perfectly suited gift in honor of my first year here in blogdom with you all. and a beautiful visual reminder of the seasonal rhythm in which we all partake...
ruth elsasser is one of my favorite waldorf-inspired artists and i have much of her artwork in my home. and so i wish to share some of that love with you. please leave a comment here in this post sometime before saturday at 9:00pm CST to enter your name into the drawing! and thank you again for a wonderful year of memories.
yours in a year of seasons,
* * * * * * *
and the winner is becky, commenter #19! congratulations!
i've been considering the move for quite a while and the timing just felt right. it feels roomier and more organized over here, so i'm one happy mama. but have no worries, my friends. you can continue to access my blog here using the same web address as always - waldorfmama.com. and you will still be able to peruse through my old blog, in it's entirety, and all of my 08 blogspot posts by clicking on the archives/blogspot link above. actually this move will be of little significance to you. but, my oh my, to me...it's made a world of difference.
i'd like to take this time now to thank each and every one of you for your continued support during this first year. it's because of you that i am here. and i am so grateful.
i've also experienced the birth of some newly found creative energy as a result of this little move and i've got a ton of new ideas/plans in the works for the blog and my two shops! i've even got a little giveaway planned for tomorrow to commemorate the occasion. so welcome to my new space, take a look around, make yourself comfortable and stop by often! i'll be here.
yours in this new beginning,
p.s. please take a moment to visit my sponsor and make them feel welcome, too!
