me :: busy knitting...

i've had an abundance of hat orders in the shop this past week, so i'll be very busy knitting in the coming days. if you don't see me here in this space as much as usual...you'll know where i am. happily knitting away. and hopefully creating some of those other new and exciting things that i want to share with you soon!

p.s.  i've decided to do one self-portrait per month this year.

sunshine...

i'd like you to meet sunshine (or 'shunshine', as my son always called her). i made this little doll for my son, caleb (now 18), when he was a very small baby. i was actually making the doll for my daughter, naomi (who was 4 at the time)...but my sweet little boy decided  she was his and would not let her go.

he slept with this little doll until he was quite old (older than he would ever care to admit now) and she comforted him always. she sits on the shelf in his room now. in a very special spot. still comforting him, it seems. little handmade waldorf dolls are like that - they find a certain place in your heart and never leave there.
