i was so busy with my blog move that i forgot to post about the celebration of epiphany (three kings day), which is on january 6. this is the day when the magi, or three kings, arrived at the stable to visit and give gifts to the newborn christ child. often during this celebration in waldorf schools, a teacher or parent will bake a large sweet bread with three almonds hidden inside. the children will eat the bread and each child who finds an almond will wear a golden crown for the day. also in many traditions, any christmas decorations and greenery that were put up during the holidays are taken down on this day.
